Masters Swim Program

The Masters Swim Program is for adult swimmers with varying levels of swimming ability with the intent to swim for fitness, for competition, enhance triathlon programming and mainly for the FUN of it! The Laurier Master Swim Club is a member of Master Swim Ontario, participants can compete in MSO sanctioned competitions and meets as a member of Laurier's master swim program. The Master Swim program uses the Athletic Complex pool.  

Regular Practice Schedule

  • Monday 8:00 - 9:30 p.m. - Deep end
  • Thursday 6:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. - Shallow end
  • Saturday 10:30 - 12:00 p.m. - Shallow end
  • Sunday 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. - Shallow end

Meet the Coach

"My name is Dylan Thomas and I am the new coach for Masters! I am very excited to be coaching everyone this year. I am a second year Kinesiology major with a minor in Psychology. Alongside my academics, I am the Team Captain of the Wilfrid Laurier Swim Team. I have been swimming for the past 11 years, and am a National level qualifier. I have been coaching for the past three years, working with skill levels ranging from new to high performance swimmers. I have a strong passion for the water and am excited to be coaching this fall!"

Masters Program Registration

Fees are listed at laurierathletics.com/shop, members can sign up by selecting the days they would like to register for. Each day will be limited to 25 spaces, up to 5 per lane. You must only attend practice on the day(s) you're registered for. If you have to miss your registered day you will not be permitted to attend another day instead. 

Please note:
  • You must purchase a Facility Membership before registering for the master program. Master swimmers are able to purchase an Alumni Membership, at the rate of $37.75 per month. Facility memberships must be purchased at the Hawk Desk located in the Athletic Complex. This membership entitles you to use the fitness center, lane swims, and day use lockers
  • Registration will ask for your facility membership number before it can process the order. Please ensure your facility membership is current/active before purchasing registration online. 
  • Masters Swimming Ontario Registration extra (if you wish to compete, you must register with MSO)
  • Purchase your Masters Swim Registration by going to the Shop tab, then selecting the Lessons/Course/Clinics box. 
  • Should you wish to start after the first week of the term, please email Amanda Kelly, amandakelly@wlu.ca, for a coupon code. Please note, code must be applied at checkout. 
Your membership is paid by terms:
  • September to December
  • January to April
  • May to August

Refund Policy 

In the event you would like to cancel your master's registration, you must contact Amanda Kelly (amandakelly@wlu.ca), within 10 days of purchase to receive a full refund. Should you fail to give notice within 10 days of purchase, you will be required to pay the full registration fee.
