Wilfrid Laurier Athletics and Recreation offers a variety of lifesaving and lifeguarding courses to help you reach your aquatic goals.
Standard First Aid and CPR C
Standard First Aid incorporates all Emergency First Aid. This program is designed for those who require an in-depth understanding of first aid, including legal implications, spinals, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abnormal/chest injuries, burns and medical emergencies.
CPR Level C covers all aspects of CPR skills for aiding adults, children and infants. This program is recognized by the WSIB and satisfies requirements in the Ontario Public Pools regulation. No prerequisite is required and a manual will be provided.

Standard First Aid and CPR-C Recertification
A one day course required to keep first aiders up to date with any changes that have been made in the first aid programs and to ensure that skills are kept up to standard.
Standard First Aid and CPR skills are reviewed and enhanced.
Prerequisite: Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification

NL Recertification
A one day course required to keep lifeguards up to date with any changes that have been made in the lifesaving programs, and to ensure that skills are kept up to standard. To be current, NL must be recertified every two years.
Prerequisite: National Lifeguard Service
