Whether you're new to Athletics and Recreation, or want to find a new way to get involved, find your fit!

Work out at the Fit Centre or take Group Exercise or Dance classes; get your team together or register as a free agent for intramurals; soar above at the climbing wall; make a splash at the pool; join a sport club, go to Open Gym; and more! Learn more about all of our programming here.

To help students discover the various programming and events offered through Athletics and Recreation, we want to give you the chance to win! The challenge runs from 9:00am on September 6th to 11:59pm on September 30th, 2024.

If you participate in at least six (6) out of the following eight (8) activities and log your progress by submitting the forms at each location/event, you will be entered in the giveaway! Participate in seven (7) out of eight (8) activities for two additional entries, or eight (8) out of eight (8) activities for three additional entries. 

Activities included in the challenge are:

• Attend lane swim
  • It is free to attend lane swim. Click here for the schedule. 
  • Don't forget to scan the QR code and fill out the form in the pool. 
• Work out at the Fit Centre
  • It is free to work out at the Fit Centre. Click here for the hours of operation.
  • Don't forget to scan the QR code and fill out the form in the Fit Centre. 
• Attend a Group Exercise class
  • It is free to attend Group Exercise classes, but you need to register for a pass. Click here for the schedule. 
  • Don't forget to scan the QR code and fill out the form in the studios.
• Attend a football game 
  • Scan the QR code and fill out the form at the stadium if you attend the September 7th game. If you attend the September 14th or September 28th game, your participation will be automatically recorded.  
  • Tickets can be purchased here, but all first-year Laurier students who registered for Orientation and Students' Union Orientation volunteers get into the September 7th, 2024 game for free. 
• Register for intramurals.
  • If you register for an intramural, your participation will be automatically recorded.
• Attend Open Gym
  • It is free to attend Open Gym. Click here for the schedule (scroll down).
  • Don't forget to scan the QR code and fill out the form in the gym. 
• Go to the climbing wall
  • It is free to use the climbing wall. Click here for the schedule. 
• Attend a dance class.
  • It is free to attend dance classes during RecFest (September 9th to September 13th, 2024) and don't forget to scan the QR code and fill out the form in the studios. 
  • If you register for a dance class, your participation in the challenge will be automatically recorded.

For each activity, there will be a QR code which is linked to a form to fill out and record your participation. You must use your Laurier email address for each of the forms in order to be entered into the giveaway. 

Printed cards and worksheets will be handed out at the Get Involved Fair (September 6th, 11:00am - 3:00pm in the Quad) and at the Hawk Desk, if you would like to keep track of your progress. You will only be entered into the giveaway if you have completed the forms for the above activities. A physical card or worksheet is not required to participate in the challenge. 

Winners will be drawn at random. First, second and third place winners will be announced by Friday, October 4th, 2024. The first, second, and third place winners will have their choice of one of three prizes, in the order they have placed:

• A Laurier Golden Hawks gym bag
• Lunatune headphones
• A white Stanley tumblr
