The Department of Athletics and Recreation is excited to acknowledge our team of student staff for their enthusiasm, hard work, and pride they bring to their respective roles with the 2026 Soar Awards, proudly presented by Nothers, The Award Store. 

The department extends their appreciation to all of our student staff whose hard work, dedication and effort made it an incredible 2025-26 season and school year at Laurier.  

Premier Awards

The Don Smith Award, for lasting contribution to the recreation program, was awarded to Kayla Burton, who has worked as the recreation communications supervisor for the last two years, and will graduate this year. The department was pleased to have Don Elliott from Nothers, The Award Store, in attendance to help present the award.

The Pat Kitchen Award, for outstanding customer service, was awarded to Ariel Babichev, who has worked as the aquatics supervisor for the last two years, and will graduate this year.
