A variety of sport clubs are hosting tryouts in the coming weeks. A list of tryouts is included below and will be updated as new tryouts are announced.
If you have any questions about participating in the tryouts, visit the club's post for more details and contact the club directly, either through email or Instagram. Tryout sessions and information are subject to change.

Badminton (Competitive)
The Laurier Badminton Club is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever competitive badminton team this 2025–2026 season!
Players will represent Laurier in the University Team Series, organized by Badminton Ontario. The season will run from September to March, with a commitment of just 1 practice per week. Selected athletes will compete in up to three competitive tournaments hosted at other universities, offering a chance to gain valuable experience, challenge yourself, and showcase your Golden Hawk pride.
We are inviting all students to tryout on Sunday, September 7th, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at the Athletic Complex. Tryouts are $10 and you can register through the website. Follow @wlu.badminton on Instagram for more information.
Ball Hockey
Tryouts
The Laurier Men's Ball Hockey Team is excited to announce its open tryouts for the 2025-2026 school year. Many spots are open this year as the majority of the team graduated in the past season. Registration is required and can be found on our website.
Tryouts will take place at Queensmount arena (1260 Queen's Blvd, Kitchener, ON N2M 1C7) during the following times:
Saturday, September 20th, 2:30 - 4 pm and
Sunday, September 21st, 11 am - 12 pm
About The Team
The team is a club program that competes in the Ontario University Ball Hockey League (OUBHL). It was founded in 2017 and represents the school in interuniversity competition. This past season, it won 2 of 4 tournaments and were ranked first among all university teams. Playing on the team is a full school year commitment as the club practices weekly and travels to several tournaments. The ball hockey club provides great opportunities to meet new people while continuing to develop and compete at a high level.

Field Hockey
Laurier Field Hockey hosting open tryouts: Sept 3rd, 8th and 9th
Are you ready to bring your competition, skill, and team spirit to the field? The Wilfrid Laurier University Field Hockey Team is excited to announce open tryouts for the upcoming 2025 season.
All interested students are invited to the upcoming tryouts, which will take place on September 3rd & 9th from 7:30pm - 9:00pm and September 8th from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at Ansley Alumni Field.
The Laurier Field Hockey Team proudly competes in tournaments against strong OUA level opponents such as Toronto, Guelph, Waterloo and visits various cities to compete in competitive games and tournaments. The season spans from September to March playing both outdoor and indoor versions of the game. The team also emphasizes a fun and engaging atmosphere through various team bonding activities and making every moment on the field unforgettable. Become part of a competitive club and vibrant school community while representing the purple and gold on the pitch!

The Wilfrid Laurier University Ringette team is excited to welcome new and returning players to our open tryouts this fall. Whether you've been playing for years or are looking to continue your ringette journey at the university level, this is your chance to be part of a fast-paced, competitive, and supportive team!
As a student-run club, Laurier Ringette is about more than just the game – it's about community. You'll meet other students who love ringette, push yourself on the ice, and represent Laurier at competitive tournaments across Ontario. Come out, show us your skills, and see why playing for the Golden Hawks is such a special experience.
