Thrive Week is a weeklong series of free events to boost wellness on campus. Thrive Week occurs in both the Fall and Winter terms. Thrive Week will kick off on Monday, November 3rd with free events running across campus all week long until November 7th.
What is Thrive Week?
There are free events and workshops taking place across campus through a variety of departments, both in person and virtual. The Student Wellness Centre works with partners across the university to bring students a week of workshops, social events, giveaways and more, all dedicated to supporting your mental health!
The Department of Athletics and Recreation offers a variety of programs all week long, showcasing the positive impact of physical activity on mental health. Thrive events are organized by the seven dimensions of wellness: mental, physical, social, financial, spiritual, environmental, and vocational.

Monday, November 3rd
- MAKE/BRING A FRIEND CARDIO & CORE: Mon, Nov. 3 - 9:00 am - 9:30 am, Studio 1
- A partner workout with fun cardiovascular training while incorporating exercises to target the abs.
- DROP-IN DANCE: CONTEMPORARY (OPEN): Mon, Nov. 3 - 9:00 am - 10:00 am, Studio 4
- This style is founded on natural movement, creativity, expression, technique, dynamics, body awareness and the use of space.
- GLOW RUN: Mon, Nov. 3 - 6:00 - 6:45 PM, Athletic Complex
- Meet outside the AC for a steady pace 3K run with the Laurier Run Club! This run is designed for anyone who wants to give running a try!
Tuesday, November 4th
- PERSONAL TRAINING: STARTING POINT BOOTH: Tues, Nov. 4 - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, Athletic Complex lobby
- Visit our personal training booth in the AC lobby for a low-pressure, high-support experience with drop-in machine orientations, Q&A with our personal trainers, fun fitness tips, and mini giveaways. No sign-ups — just pop by and say hello!
- ROCKIN' IT WITH THE ROCK WALL: Tues, Nov. 4 - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Climbing Wall
- Enjoy throwback songs and tasty treats while you explore bouldering in our climbing wall corner with one of our talented instructors.
Wednesday, November 5th
- INNER TUBE WATER POLO: Wed, Nov. 5 - 10:30 am - 11:30 am, Pool
- It's like handball, but in the water—and everyone's floating in inner tubes aka 'donuts'. Expect lots of laughs and friendly competition as teams try to score goals while paddling around in their tubes. No experience needed—just show up and have some fun!
- CANDLELIT RESTORATIVE YOGA: Wed, Nov. 5 - 11:00 am - 11:45 am, MPR
- A class for relaxation, stretching and meditation to help strengthen postural and stability muscles. For those looking to improve strength and flexibility while destressing in a calm atmosphere.
- DROP-IN DANCE: GLOW IN THE DARK JAZZ (OPEN): Wed, Nov. 5 - 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm, MPR
- An exciting and ever evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, passion and life. This class encourages individual expression and the development of personal style.
- PARTY ANTHEMS CYCLE: Wed, Nov. 5 - 5:00 pm - 5:45 pm, Cycle Studio
- A high-energy indoor cycling class that blends rhythm riding, fun choreography, and outdoor-style drills like hills and sprints. This cardio workout will have you building strength & endurance in a low lit studio environment.
Thursday, November 6th

- Jazz Funk is a fusion style combining elements of both jazz and hip hop - often featured in your favourite music videos and concerts! This style is upbeat, sassy, and everything in between.
- STRENGTH CLUB: TRY-IT OUT SESSION: Thurs, Nov. 6 - 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm, S&C Studio

Friday, November 7th
- TROPICAL TOTAL TONE: Fri, Nov. 7 - 11:00 am - 11:45 am, Studio 4
- Dress in your summer fit & join us for a mat-based, full-body workout inspired by Pilates and driven by the beat of the music. This high-rep, low-weight class focuses on intentional, repetitive movement to sculpt and tone from head to toe.
